La Difference – Desigual F/W 2020
An invitation to love your differences more than ever: La Difference – this is the motto of the new fall/winter Desigual collection. In a world of cookie-cutter Instagram filters with about 300 million almost-identical posts below, we understand the importance of being different. Of being curious, free, unconventional, fun, colorful, positive, aware, and also responsible. Desigual’s new collection is an ode to who we are.
To the patchwork that makes us unique. To the word ‘casual’ that makes us fun. And to the color that defines us. But mainly, to the future: who will you be tomorrow, if you’re not you today? The famous fashion brand also making progress: they are working to ensure that 20% of the entire FW20 collection is sustainable, they have increased their range of sizes in woven items and they are focusing on comfortable and urban garments that let us be free. Freer than ever before.
Introducing graffiti, cargo pockets, and heritage details on sparkly, colorful embellishments. Comfortable, loose-fitting looks exude nostalgia and feature flowers and patchwork details filled with memories, from home and further afield. This is a women’s collection that blends styles and the comfort of sportswear for day-to-day wear. The looks come with that essential touch, with designs, fabrics, and bright colors to make them unique. Desigual reinvented patchwork with hybrid garments that blend fabrics and prints, and they’ve been bold in their use of signature trend tools such as photography, tie-dyes, checks, pleats, glitter, and tartan.
Galactic and floral designs add a more romantic feel to the arrival of the new collection and the colder weather. Galactic themes and XXL flowers are blended with shades of khaki, pink and blue in a collection dominated by shirt dresses, T-shirts, and oversize trousers. Military and beige details and lots of flowers will be with us as we welcome in the cold.
Casual, urban looks feature in comfortable fits that adapt to the transition from summer to winter. Basic jeans in organic cotton and new colors, and jackets filled with details for every style: from embroidery to oversize fits. Exotic, trucker-fit jackets made from pure cotton or with elastane are paired with mixed fabrics, removable fake fur collars, and fleece linings in the most contemporary styles. There are also oversize jackets, which are more casual and made using mixed fabrics. Ready for winter with removable fleece linings and collars, fake fur, and a blend of warm fabrics.
They’ve taken inspiration from travel and from a mixture of culture and history, both closer to home and further afield. The collection is strongly influenced by the aesthetic of Moroccan and other African cultures, which blended with oriental details and heavily embellished garments. Ethnic prints are mixed with bright, block colors in shades of sand, red, ochre, black, and orange, while photographic padded patches are combined with fake fur coats in eye-catching colors. Fake suede, embellishments, lurex, and sparkle details appear on shirts and knits, with stylish knit jacquards and elegant cuts. Desigual’s new logo, in various different guises, takes center stage in garments, where it also contrasts with lettering in striking graphic styles and block colors, spelling out optimistic slogans.
A nomadic style brings several types of ethnic-style outerwear to the city, combining burgundy and shades of green, black, and red. Also included tartan, giving it our own twist. Dresses, trousers, skirts, and blouses come in punk and patchwork styles, with a soft, urban touch. Wrapping up warm never felt so soft: there are fluffy coats and jackets with extra volume added by fake fur and fleece.
